Project Description
Quarterly email communications with Andrew Banks, Anita Zucker about Andrew and Anita's $12.5 matching gift challenge. See below Jessica Feagle's request: Jessica F.: We received clarity today on the gift challenge that’s been discussed over the last few months. We are now to the point that we’re ready to go with it. So with that said. Tom wants us to come up with a draft email that he would send out quarterly to both Andrew Banks and Anita Zucker. So I need your creativity help. We are on a short deadline for this initial email (we need to have a draft to him by next week for review as we have to send out the first update by the end of the month). So I thought we could have something simple prepared for this go around and then have a little more time to spruce it up more for the next go around. Do you know what we have in terms of ability to send “spruced up” emails? Rather than sending a regular email, I was thinking it might be nicer to do something like what goes out for maybe the all staff meeting or something similar. I threw some things into a word doc so you can sense what I’m thinking (and seriously this was done in about 2 minutes so it’s extremely rough and piece milled together). I’m looking to you for how we can accomplish this (do we have a mailchimp type email function that Tom has the ability to use? From what we’ve been told Tom will send this out himself so I’m trying to keep it as user friendly as possible. So looking to you for suggestions.) This first email will only have the amount and percentage to goal (we are now matching $12.5M, Bank’s $10M plus Zucker’s $2.5M) the future emails we thought we could share where the support is going (if it’s supporting a specific college) maybe a student quote and/or feature.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
