Luke and I met with Tom today to hear his recommended changes for the Board Member Handbook for the upcoming fall board meeting. Please note the following: 1. Add “Fiscal Year 2018-19” to the front cover below “Board Member Handbook” 2. Shift color scheme on the front and back covers 3. Inside Cover, Gale King’s Letter, 2nd paragraph: replace “guarantee the success of” with “advance” 4. Pages 2-9: change footer from “University of Florida Foundation” to “University of Florida” 5. Page 6: Change header from “UF” to “University of Florida” 6. Page 6: Update Tom’s photo 7. Page 6: Correct Antonio Farias’ name 8. Page 7: Change 2018 to 2019 and move UF up to 8th 9. Pages 10-17: Change footer from “University of Florida Foundation” to “University of Florida Advancement” 10. Page 10: Update Mission, Vision and Values 11. Page 11: Update background photo 12. Page 11, 2nd Paragraph, 2nd sentence: replace existing with “UF is fortunate to receive state support, accounting for roughly 25 percent of the university’s annual budget. State support provides stability to the university, while private support bridges the gap to achieve excellence.” 13. Page 12: Update header from “UF” to “University of Florida” and delete “The Decade Ahead” 14. Page 12, Goal 5: Change “Donors” to “Philanthropists” 15. Page 12, Goal 7: Change “Volunteers” to “Principal Partners” in two places 16. Page 13: Change “donors” to “philanthropists” 17. Page 15: Update Tom’s photo 18. When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
