Add new text content, additional photo(s) or video(s)CompleteJason Phenicie1) The Water Institute should be listed under schools, Centers and Units on this page  https://www.uff.ufl.edu/giving-opportunities/  like the Whitney Lab.  Following the format for the Whitney lab, information to include on the page is below:

Our institute website is : waterinstitute.ufl.edu

The statement about the institute should say : The University of Florida Water Institute brings together talent from throughout the University and builds internal and external partnerships to address urgent water research challenges; implement innovative interdisciplinary academic programs to train excellent students; and provide state-of-the-art expert assistance and educational programs for external stakeholders.  Water Institute faculty represent a breadth of water specialties from geophysical, chemical, biological and social sciences, engineering, law and humanities.

Our twitter handle is:  @ufwater

Our email is : water-institute@ufl.edu<mailto:water-institute@ufl.edu>

Featured giving opportunities should include:

1) Water Institute Graduate Fellowship Fund :   The blurb should say “ The Water Institute Graduate Fellowship Program supports interdisciplinary faculty-graduate fellow teams to conduct integrative research in an emerging area of water science, including the social, natural, and engineering sciences.  This program  produces scientists and engineers with a deep knowledge in their chosen discipline, a strong holistic understanding of the bio-physical, technological, ecological, social and economic challenges to sustaining water resources, and a broad range of interdisciplinary skills.

Donations could go into the Sherwood Stokes scholarship endowment that we manage  https://www.uff.ufl.edu/giving-opportunities/011083-sherwood-l-stokes-environmental-and-water-quality-scholarships/ or a separate account if that is more appropriate.

Please note that the date that Sherwood Stokes passed away is incomplete on this page https://www.uff.ufl.edu/giving-opportunities/011083-sherwood-l-stokes-environmental-and-water-quality-scholarships/ .   I do not know the date but I assume someone over in the foundation should know.   If not the last sentence should be deleted (Please note that the descriptions of other Sherwood Stokes scholarships managed by other units also have incomplete information.

2) Water Institute Gift Fund :   https://www.uff.ufl.edu/giving-opportunities/012081-water-institute-planning-fund/

If possible please rename the fund from Water Institute Planning Fund to Water Institute Gift Fund and edit the blurb on this page to say “ The Water Institute Gift Fund supports UF Water Institute faculty to identify, understand and solve complex interdisciplinary water issues”

3) Duke Energy- UF Water Institute Endowment https://www.uff.ufl.edu/giving-opportunities/012949-progress-energy-uf-water-institute-endowment/

Progress Energy doesn’t exist anymore so this should be renamed the Duke-Energy – UF Water Institute Endowment. The blurb should be edited to say  “ This fund was established by Progress Energy in 2006 for the purpose of supporting interdisciplinary faculty research, education and public outreach programs undertaken by the University of Florida Water Institute, in order to catalyze the creation and adoption of improved methodologies of water management and policy development based upon strong research in water-related sciences, engineering, management and policy.  Progress Energy merged with Duke Energy in 2012 ”

4) Carl S. Swisher Eminent Scholar Chair Water Resources  https://www.uff.ufl.edu/giving-opportunities/001557-carl-s-swisher-eminent-scholar-chair-in-water-resources/

This blurb should be edited to say “ This fund was established by the Carl S. Swisher Foundation to support research to improve understanding of the availability and allocation of water resources in the State of Florida, better inform the general public about water issues across the state, and contribute to enhanced water-related education for graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Florida”

2)  The Water Institute and the programs above should also appear under the “Your Environment Theme” https://www.uff.ufl.edu/theme/your-environment/

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.

We're glad you're interested in doing more with Quickbase!

Now we need to make you official before you share apps or manage your account.

Verifying your email lets you share Quickbase with others in your company.
