Please update the giving page with the following information:

This fund recognizes those non-faculty staff members who play a critical and often unseen role in the life of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (Department) through their years of service. The Brennan’s have devoted their lives to educating young people, having influenced countless students through their teaching and mentoring. Dr. Brennan served as a committee member for more than 260 Masters and Ph.D. level students at the University. He was a faculty member at the University for more than 28 years, serving from 1991 until his retirement in 2019. Dr. Brennan held the University’s Margaret A. Ross Endowed Professorship from 2003 until retirement.  He was named as a Florida Blue Key Distinguished Professor in 2007. He was also a National Academy of Inventors Fellow and received the MSE Outstanding Faculty Award in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001.

The Fund shall be used to support one or more awards to celebrate the contributions of committed individuals in the Department who are responsible for impacting others through their duties, providing a critical and important service to the Department.  This award primarily honors the dedication and outstanding service to the Department.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
