Project Description
Brian and I spent the better part of today drafting the email below, which also has parts of the presidents email embedded within it. He would like to send it to alumni parents and friends in the Tampa, Saint Pete, Sarasota, Fort Myers, and Naples area. Do you have the ability to pull this together and send it out tomorrow? Tom already had Brian and Maria send the email that President Fuchs sent earlier this evening along to the national board and alumni board. Brian ana Tom have been talking about pulling together a larger widespread APF email - which is the version below. We also mentioned putting some thing up on social media too. Whether it is a share of the main UF channels that’s perfectly fine. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks team! HA Dear Gators, Over the past few days, we have watched as Hurricane Ian impacted the Florida coast while it’s wind, rain and storm surge has devastated many communities across the state. As the scale of this disaster reaches unprecedented levels, and as Ian continues to threaten communities across the state and beyond, we are keeping everyone affected by these events in our thoughts and prayers. The Gator Nation is built on a spirit of togetherness that bridges all divides. We work daily to support the common good, and we rally around those in need to lift up all citizens of our state, nation, and world. It is with this spirit in mind that we write to you today. Members of the community who want to help those in need can do so in a variety of ways, including the American Red Cross and the Florida Disaster Fund. People may also donate to Aid-a-Gator, which provides funding to students experiencing unanticipated expenses due to emergency situations. Donations also can be made to Aid-a-Gator for faculty and staff. In light of Ian’s impact on communities across Florida and the southeast, that sentiment of togetherness now carries more weight. There are 288,766 UF alumni living in the state of Florida, and 62,921 located in the Southwest portion of the state. If you have been affected by this storm, please know that you have the support of The Gator Nation, and that we are thinking about you. Our community is made stronger by its people, and we will rally around you in the coming weeks and months to support your recovery. Go Gators! Brian Danforth Executive Director, UF Alumni Association

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
