The 2026 Spring Gator Family Giving Council Meeting and Weekend is designed to foster meaningful engagement among council members while advancing philanthropic priorities that support the student experience at the University of Florida. This gathering provides an opportunity to share updates, strengthen relationships, collaborate on initiatives, and deepen the impact of parent and family philanthropy across campus.

Coffee & Networking
Informal gathering time for council members to reconnect and meet new participants prior to the start of the program.

10:00 AM – 10:15 AM
Welcome & Advancement Update
Opening remarks and brief updates on university priorities, campaign progress, and parent and family philanthropic impact.

10:15 AM – 11:00 AM
Keynote Presentation: The Future of AI at UF
A featured speaker will highlight UF’s leadership in artificial intelligence, including the integration of AI across academic disciplines and its growing influence on research, industry, and student success.

11:05 AM – 11:50 AM
Campus Safety & Student Wellbeing: UFPD Presentation
Representatives from the University of Florida Police Department will share collaborative efforts to support a safe campus environment and provide insight into resources available to students and families.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Lunch
Seated lunch with time for continued conversation and networking.

College Spotlight: Academic Innovation Across Disciplines
Deans or academic leaders from the Warrington College of Business, Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, College of Journalism and Communications, and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will share updates on strategic initiatives, student opportunities, and emerging areas of excellence.

Participants will rotate through experiential learning sites and research facilities, including:

GFGC Family Day at the Reitz Union Game Room
Council members and their families are invited for a casual afternoon of games, bowling, and time together. A fun and relaxed way to continue the weekend and build community.

Optional: Men’s Gator Basketball Game
Council members will be provided with a link to purchase tickets to the Men's Gator Basketball game for those who wish to attend following the Family Day gathering.

Target attendance of 80%+ of current council members.

Track new and returning member participation to measure sustained engagement.

Conduct a post-event feedback survey with a goal of 4.5/5 or higher overall satisfaction score.

Measure increased awareness of UF priorities through survey statements such as:

“I better understand UF’s advancements in AI.”

“I am aware of the resources and partnerships supporting campus safety.”

Monitor expressed interest in specific philanthropic or programmatic areas highlighted during sessions (via brief interest form or follow-up conversations).

Record the number of follow-up donor meetings or exploratory discussions scheduled with FCD team members post-event.

Assess sense of connection by measuring the percentage of participants who report feeling more connected to fellow council members and interested in attending future gatherings.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
