[JUN-20-18  1:26 PM  Jason Phenicie] Hi April,
Please review the timeline section of this request's dashboard. You'll see that I've updated the timeline as per our email discussion.
Thanks!

[JUL-25-18  9:00 AM  Anonymous]  April: Tom's message follows...
Colleagues,

Thank you for all your many efforts during these last few months of the fiscal year.  Once again, we have closed the year with recording breaking numbers.  For the 3rd year in a row, we have surpassed $400 million with total commitments at $415.8 million.  Our annual target to reach $3 billion in 8 years is $375 million, so we are tracking ahead of schedule for time and commitments.

Additionally, for the first time in the university’s history, we exceeded $300 million in annual cash or cash equivalent contributions, which totaled $339.7 million. This number should rank us among the top 10 public universities.  At the same time, we received 73,929 gifts.  As our fundraising continues to grow so, too, does our base.

Your contributions have made all the difference.  Well done!

Tom

[JUL-23-18 Anonymous] April: Melissa has requested some formatting changes, if possible.  Can we remove or reduce the line space between each headline and the associated story?   Also, please move the Advancement Spotlight story to the bottom, below the News You Can Use segment, but before the quote.

Edits:  Under “Salute Our RAISE Award Winners” omit “of you” in third sentence, to read, “Thank you to all who submitted nominations!” and add “in their review” at the end of the last sentence, to read, “…provide detailed examples to assist the committee in their review!”

Under “Organizational Announcement” change “Elizabeth Serra” to “Elizabeth Deely”

Under “Security Awareness Video” change “Video” to “Training”

Under “Deadlines/Reminders” add “12:00 PM to 1:00 PM” to all Lunch + Learn events (Aug. 17, September 21, and October 19)

Add “- DEADLINE” after the dates for the following events:
August 31 (Performance Appraisals for fundraisers due)
September 21 (RAISE nominations due)
September 28 (Gator 100 nomination deadline)

Change “Gator 100 nomination deadline” to read “Gator 100 nominations due”

Notes:  Kathy Peterson will supply the message from Tom early this week. New hire memo will be finalized and updated as soon as the photos are ready (new staff members are being photographed Tuesday).

IMPORTANT:  Melissa Long would like to provide a draft to Tom/Kathy before the end of the day Wednesday, July 25th. She is aware that photos will not be ready and we may or may not have Tom's message by then.

[JUL-27-18 10:44 AM  Anonymous] April:  These should be the final edits!

Tom's message, numbers have changed:  1st paragraph, "total commitments at $416 million."  2nd paragraph, "...cash equivalent contributions, which totaled $340 million."

RAISE award article:
Replace the exclamation point at the end of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sentences with a period.
Enter a comma after Ashley Rodriguez to read"... Ashley Rodriguez, representing the Leader category!"

Organizational Announcement, line 5: insert "in" between "leadership" and "annual" to read:  “oversee leadership in annual giving…”

UF Advancement Top Ten Talks – Change headline to “Top Ten Talks UF”

8/31 appraisal deadline: add "FY 2018" and capitalize "Fundraisers" to read: "FY 2018 Performance Appraisals for Fundraisers due"

Remove HAND meeting from the deadlines/reminders

Add between RAISE nomination deadline and Gator 100 nomination deadline: September 24, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM, EAH Classroom Know Your Benefits C.E. Session

October 25th All Staff meeting should be 3:30-4:30

Advancement Spotlight: second paragraph, second sentence remove comma after “esteemed group”

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
