 Advancement Spotlight:
If you have ever thought of changing the world, you should talk to the UF/IFAS development team, because they are actually doing it.  This outstanding team of professionals is made up of individuals with widely held beliefs and backgrounds, but they are wholly united in their focus on IFAS’ mission, and the belief that the work being done there will truly change our world for the better.  Along with his focus on achievement, the team has agreed to accomplish their goals the right way. They have developed a culture of trust and collaboration by agreeing to follow these guiding principles:  Fundraising First; Be Direct; Be Present; Be Constructive; Be Transparent; Be Slow to Anger/ Slow to Speak; Be Bold; Be Purposeful; Be Supportive.  Collectively, the IFAS development team has been able to build partnerships with donors, of course, but also with the extensive faculty and researchers across 67 counties.   All of this effort has resulted in an award winning team that has exceeded expectations.  Pam Matchett won a National Agriculture Alumni and Development Association (NAADA) Frontline award in 2018, as well as a UF Advancement R.A.I.S.E. award.  Christy Chiarelli earned a R.A.I.S.E. award in 2017, and recently was asked to serve on the NAADA board along with Taylor Johnson (it’s a unique honor to be asked to serve, and extremely rare to have two members from the same organization). Caylin Hilton was a Category 5 Superior Accomplishment Award winner for the 2016-17 academic year.  Perhaps even more importantly, Caylin was the winner of the Magic Spoon at their most recent chili cook-off!  In fact, if you were to visit them at work it might be your best day in the office, because, while they work hard, they also laugh, celebrate, eat donuts, and truly enjoy being together.

[NOV-13-18  1:36 PM  Anonymous] April:  Edit Tom's message to read "The Gator football team sparked that old familiar excitement in the Swamp with the big win over LSU, and again by defeating South Carolina."

Under Deadlines/Reminders, update the HAND event: December 10, 10:15 AM, H.A.N.D. event

[NOV-14-18  9:32 AM  Anonymous] April:  The IFAS intern's name is Heather Yoder (for the Spotlight photo caption).

Also, please correct the third sentence of the Spotlight to read:
"Along with a focus on achievement, the team is committed to accomplishing their goals the right way."

[NOV-19-18  8:46 AM  Anonymous] April: Per Tom's request, please change the third and fourth paragraphs of his message to read, "The Gator football team sparked that old familiar excitement in the Swamp with big wins over LSU, South Carolina, and Idaho.  The promise of a bowl game is rallying the fans and filling the stadium.

You’ve all played a part in these successes, and I’m grateful for your hard work on behalf of UF. I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. Our journey continues!"

Omit the Gators Give Thanks Day story.

Change H.A.N.D event to read "H.A.N.D. (Helping Advancement Nurture Diversity) Quarterly Meeting"

Once these changes are made, it is ready to publish.  Thanks for your help getting this done today!

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
