Pg. 3-4: New message from Tom:
The University of Florida is enjoying a period of elevated energy and tremendous momentum, having recently been named among the nation’s top 10 public universities. We recognize the importance of leveraging this milestone to propel us toward our future goals. We renew our commitment to the talented people we have attracted and cultivated, all of whom are committed professionals working toward a common goal. In managing our talent, we continue to set our aspirations high, and together we can thoughtfully solve the challenges before us:
o How do we attract and acquire the best people in the field of institutional advancement?
o How do we develop the abilities of our workforce to yield unprecedented results and build world-class teams?
o How can we retain the knowledge and skills of our team while growing our organization to reach our greatest aspirations?
Talent management is a strategy aligned with our mission, one that is future-focused and proactive to meet the next generation of challenges. Our commitment to talent management is grounded in our values. Leading with respect, we value a diversity of ideas and the thoughts and opinions of others. We abide by the principle of accountability and do what we say we will. We are steadfast to the belief in integrity and will always strive to do the right thing. We understand that we must be focused toward stewardship and express consistent and genuine gratitude to all our stakeholders. Finally, we want to be the best; excellence is essential to our cultural DNA.
It is our dedication to these values that enables us not only to look inward but also to reflect on our past successes and on ways we can do better in the future. We are devoted to supporting our most valued asset, our talented people, and have invested in the organizational infrastructure that will enable this dedicated team of professionals to succeed.
As a stakeholder who shares expertise and is equally passionate about the need to retain, develop and recruit talented individuals, we present to you a framework to serve as our guide. Together we will positively impact the professionals who will lead our organization into the next era. Thank you for sharing your many talents with us.
Go Gators, Go Greater!
Thomas J. Mitchell, Vice President, Advancement
Executive Vice President, University of Florida Foundation
Pg. 9: New committee photo – this may be a little hard to come by so I’m open to your suggestions…I don’t have one I can provide for you. However, the current photo is out of date – it shows the past Chair, the past AVP of Talent Management, and the past VP of UF HR. I’m hoping you can dig up something a little more current.
Pg. 15: Update Chair: Jody Swanson, change photo. The photo on page 16 of the current guide is fine to use again, unless you all have something more current.
Pg. 16: Update Vice Chair: Tonya Cornileus, PhD., change photo. She has said that her LinkedIn profile picture is ok to use (attached), but I’m not sure of the resolution. We also have a photo of her here: https://ufodaa.box.com/s/04gu4quqa1315ij9esiwy5ux9jffmeeb
Pg. 18: new photo - can be anything relevant to the current era in UF Advancement.
