Project Description
Update Alumni Demographics One-pager **Final document due to Tom by noon on Thursday, April 22 (Heather Ashley needs to review first)** Heather Ashley is working to get the data squared away with Ellen and Jessica and wanted to see if one of the designers would be able to update the attached alumni one-pager to reflect the information within the data set – age, ethnicity/race, gender, college affiliation, top 10 alumni donors? FYI: Tom would like to know the number of alumni in Palm Beach County, Florida. He also needs some demographics around this alumni group (gender, age, ethnicity, college, etc.) and the top 10 donors. Top 10 donors: Report Name UF Total Commitments Powell, Earl & Christy $14,456,656 DeSantis, Debbie A. $5,981,502 Ahrens, Richard Craig $4,355,692 Stephens Jr., Sam $4,001,130 Sheer, Thomas L. $3,043,723 Pressly Jr., James & Katie $2,806,839 Scherer, Mark Steven $2,501,923 Rosenthal, Gerald Arthur $2,274,820 Merkel, Joelen & Robert $2,210,881 Anspach Jr., William Earl $1,427,743

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
